OIL pressure

Oil pressure is fed via the high pressure circuit and pump at bottom of engine on LHS of vehicle. The pressure is controlled by the RPCV Rail Pressure Control Valve. The oil feeds to the high pressure feed that ultimately ends in the fitting beside the ORPS.

There is a “NUT” in middle, with an o-ring that can become damaged with diesel ingress into the oil and must be replaced after that event.

Low oil pressure sources:

  1. Oil pressure sensor above main filter on RHS of engine;
  2. Loose fitting next to ORPS – may work loose [J5 story]
  3. Low oil levels in sump;
  4. Leaking sump seals
